For Immediate Release
Starbridge Media Group, Inc. has teamed up with the University of South Carolina to produce a customized comic book in support of the University’s kids’ reading initiatives, Starbridge CEO Jamie Crittenberger announced today.
Featuring first-year women’s basketball head coach and Olympic champion Dawn Staley, the “Reading Heroes” comic will send a positive message displaying the virtues of reading and education. The comic book, targeted at elementary-age children, is a key promotional element of South Carolina’s statewide reading initiative, and will feature six local winners of the reading program.
“Bringing kids together through sports and education is a major goal of our company,” said Starbridge President Ken Hutman, who will oversee the project. “We are very excited to be partnering with the University of South Carolina on this positive educational initiative.”
The “Reading Heroes” comic will be distributed to fans at the South Carolina vs. Alabama women’s basketball game on February 15, 2009 in Columbia, SC, and the six local winners will be recognized on-court for their accomplishments.
