With the rapid expansion of the NBA into a global presence, many teams are searching for ways to capitalize on expanding revenue opportunities. When the Washington Wizards determined that the Asian market was a possible target for new business development, the organization turned to its exclusive sponsorship agency and tapped Starbridge’s International Business Development division to guide the process. In a few short months, due to its in-market business and governmental experience, Starbridge was able to contact suitable Asian business partners as well as serve as a cultural intermediary between the Wizards and key Chinese businesses and government decision makers. Starbridge also played an instrumental part in developing a plan to create a Wizards organizational tour in China this summer by consulting on sponsorship procurement, tour stops, and tour budget.
